TRS Govt A symbol of dynastic politics; BJP’s role in shaping Telangana Key: Goyal at NEC Meet

Telangana could easily have been one of the leading states in the country but it is lagging behind thanks to the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) government led by K Chandrashekar Rao, Union Minister Piyush Goyal lamented as he read the statement from the Bharatiya Janata party at National Executive Committee Meeting (NEC) in Hyderabad.

“The BJP has struggled for years and its workers have sacrificed their lives for the establishment of the Telangana State… The TRS government has become a symbol of dynasty and corruption,” the statement said, expressing its “grief ” in the face of the “difficulties” encountered by the people.

“All the ministers, including the CM, come from the same family. This family runs the government; except them, all strata, be it Dalits, farmers, poor or women, are suffering,” Goyal said.

Goyal also said young people had a role in forming the government and their sacrifices were ignored.

“The Telangana government came to power on three promises: water, investment and jobs. The money sent from the Center has been misused and the state has never shown any interest in expanding the central programs to benefit the people of the state,” added the Union Minister.

The minister claimed that Telangana will soon see a change and that the TRS has been on shaky ground since 2019, especially after the Dubbaka bypoll.

The minister also alleged an alliance between All India Muslim leader Majlis-e-Ittehadul Asaddudin Owaisi and KCR.

“Owaisi is the accelerator, brakes and speed, while KCR is the driver. They both plunder the state together,” the minister said.

Union Minister G Kishen Reddy, who was also the state chairman, said the TRS government had stooped to a low political level and the BJP had nothing to learn from them.

“We have been working for a month to make this event a success. But the machinery of government is misused to destroy our banners. We’ve never seen such a low in politics,” Reddy said.

In a scathing attack on the TRS government, Reddy asked if the BJP should learn about dynastic rule and dictatorship.

“What should we learn from you? How is a father-son duo at the head of the state? Your dictatorship? He has not come to the secretariat for eight years on behalf of Vaastu. He will teach us to govern? You don’t have a cabinet meeting. Your family is sitting at the dining table and it’s your cabinet meeting. We never say anything about their meeting, but they say bad things about us. They are depressed,” Reddy said.

The leaders believe that the public in the state is ready to “bless the BJP”.

“The TRS government is afraid of the Modi government and that is why they talk badly about Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Their founding members are not with them,” Reddy said.

Reddy also accused the TRS government of giving people money ahead of the election.

“They distributed money to every household despite the fact that they took money from them. They distributed government money to people. We will give impetus to the movement,” the minister added.

He also criticized the government for having no female ministers.

“They blame us for the fuel price increase, but the fuel price is the highest in Telangana…Villages are seeing development through the money sent from the Center.”
