Santa Barbara County Adjusts $1.7 Million ARPA Allocations at Same Time Between Projects | Government and politics

Some of the American Rescue Plan Act funds previously allocated to various projects in Santa Barbara County were moved to Tuesday by the Board of Supervisors without having to draw from the general fund or reallocate additional funds from ARPA.

Supervisors unanimously agreed to transfer nearly $1.7 million in federal aid funds between projects, although one supervisor expressed concern about how little money was available from ARPA that the county spent.

Funds transferred from one project that was under budget and another where a department chose not to use ARPA money for a project equaled the amount needed for a project that was over budget, to increase another’s security and to pay the salaries of the department that rejected the funds.
