Aldabaiba offers new roadmap for holding elections, loans and land for young people and money for healthcare for war wounded – LibyaHerald

Interim Prime Minister Abd Alhamid Aldabaiba last night unveiled a new political roadmap for holding the postponed elections. He said details of the roadmap will be announced in the next two days, including the start of the electoral process next June.

Aldabaiba was addressing the thousands of people gathered at celebrations for the 11th anniversary of the February 17 revolution in Tripoli’s main square, Martyrs’ Square.

No to war, no to division

The acting prime minister, who lost a vote of confidence in the House of Representatives (HoR) last September, warned that “there is a group that is looking to start wars in Tripoli, and we are telling them that enough,” adding that “we can’t fight anymore, and whoever wants to go back to war, we say no to them, and we won’t accept it and we won’t accept division.

Opposing political coalition: Bashagha, Saleh Hafter

The interim prime minister did not mention anyone by name, but it is widely believed he was referring to his opposing political coalition of Fathi Bashagha, HoR chairwoman Ageela Saleh and eastern military commander Khalifa Hafter.

Aldabaiba fights to keep his job

Aldabaiba, who is fighting to keep his post after the HoR controversially elected former interior minister Fathi Bashagha to replace him, said that from next Sunday his government would start handing out 50,000 plots field to young people across the country.

Loans will also be provided by the State Investment Bank so that young people can build on the land, in addition to distributing 100,000 apartments under construction to young people to complete them through earmarked loans.

A billion for war wounded

Aldabaiba added that LD 1 billion has been allocated and a committee has been formed to monitor the conditions of war casualties in the country and abroad.

Salary increases at the Ministry of the Interior

The increase in salaries for employees of the Ministry of the Interior will also be activated soon, he promised.

Marriage allowance

He also promised that the marriage allowance will continue uninterrupted

Health insurance

He also pledged to complete the health insurance project to include broader societal segments.
