If you’ve been reading the news the last few weeks, odds are you’ve seen Gwyneth Paltrow’s face and name plastered across tons of posts. In fact, you can’t even open social media without seeing commentary about her. The actress-turned-lifestyle-guru was standing trial for allegedly crashing into a retired optometrist while skiing in Deer Valley, Utah, in 2016. Plaintiff Terry Sanderson accused her of leaving him with a traumatic brain injury and several broken ribs and sought more than $3 million, while Paltrow countersued for $1 in damages as well as her legal fees, claiming that Sanderson was the one who actually caused the incident. On March 30, the verdict came in, and Paltrow won.
As the civil case (and her many meme-worthy facial expressions!) made headlines, something else drew eyeballs: Paltrow’s stealth-wealth court style.
